A little about me..in case someone asks....it
could happen! I spent 20 years in the U.S. Air Force, mostly in communications
and most of that time in Direct Air Support (for those AF folks). From there
I worked for the Postal Service in Washington state as a clerk, letter carrier
and supervisor. I finished my Postal Career as Postmaster of Eatonville,
Washington, near Tacoma.
My interests remain communications oriented. I've held an active amateur
radio license since 1952. My callsign is W7THS and I have held the callsigns
DL4AAI, DL4CX and TF2WGB. I also have held several MARS calls, AF7THS, AFA5DT
and my current MARS callsign is AFA1HS. In 2003 I was appointed the
Voice Net Mananger (AFF1N) for the northeast (MARS Region One)
and in January 2004 I accepted an appointment as the Indiana State MARS
Director (AFF1IN). I am a computer nerd now and spend a great deal
of my retired days in front of the monitor.
I've listed the links to the web sites I maintain below this
thumbnail sketch. Check them out! Especially Don Voelker's Photography, lots of pictures. Another site worth looking at, especially if you are into Ham Radio and/or MARS, is the Region One MARS site. Chalk full if information!
Our other love is travel. We have traversed the states serval times since my
retirement in 1996. We did all of our traveling in a 24 foot Itasca
Spirit Motorhome. Finally decided to retire the Itasca in favor of a Chev Astro Van
in February 2004. Motel hoping will be our choice from here on out!

Thats it in a nutshell......nothing spectacular, I guess, but a lot
of enjoyable moments along life's road.
